Richmond Makers Market Vendor Packet

  • Dates + Time:

    • December 7th + 8th

    • Hours: 12-6pm

    Locations:

    • Basic City: 212 W 6th St

    • Legend Brewing: 321 W 7th St

    • Load in: 10 am (please don’t show up before 10am)

    • Your car MUST be moved out of the Basic City parking lot by 11:45 am

    • Cars must be moved out of the loading zone at Legend by 11:30am

    • it is ok to unload from handicap spaces, butttt vvv

    • Move your car after loading in/before setting up to make room for other makers to load in. *

    • Load out: Do not start packing up before 6pm.

    • Take your time packing up. We encourage vendors to barter and shop with each other from 5-6pm

    • Review the map below before loading in. Your space will be marked with your business name

      • If you leave your car in the basic city parking lot from 12-6pm OR you leave before 6pm without notifying us, you will not be invited back.

      • For exceptions find Marie, I understand.

  • With 80+ vendors and hundreds of shoppers, parking needs to be made available to shoppers as a first priority.

    After loading in by the ramp or stairs please move your car to one of the side streets or designated lots to make space for patrons. Ask Marie for exceptions.

    Legend’s neighbors are allowing us to use a section of the lot on the corner of perry and 7th - ask for specific instructions if you haven’t parked here before.

    There is a free lot about 2.5 blocks away, if street parking isn’t your thing.

    DO NOT PARK IN THE CSX drive way behind legend’s dumpster, They will tow you.

    • If you provided your facebook link in your application + paid your vendor fee, I will add your name the vendor list on Instagram

    *** Important** add the event to your Facebook page.

    • Send FB invites to people who you think will want to attend. We’re running ads, but it helps us reach more of the right people if we teach facebook who might walk through the door.

    • We have a healthy ad budget to support digital content.

    • The more you share and post about the market, the further our ad dollars will go. Please help us reach YOUR potential customers.

    All Makers are expected to post, share, and comment on posts about the market.

    • Engaging with your fellow makers is a MUST. We are here to lift each other up.

    • Your engagement with other makers / community involvement contributes to our decision to bring you back for future events.

    • Vendor fee is due immediately.

    • A late fee is applied to invoices more than 7 days late.

      • If you cannot pay your fee on time, contact us to let us know, we can work with you.

      • Reply to your invoice with the date you plan to pay to avoid a late fee

    • After three reminders your invoice will be canceled if we do not hear from you and you will not be eligible for future markets.

    A. $65 indoor space with room for a 6ft table ONLY
    B. $85 Indoor space with room for a 6ft table and ~3ft of rack or side table space. (LIMITED)
    C. $120 indoor space with room for 2 6ft tables (VERY LIMITED)

    D. $75 outdoor space - MUST have 10 x10 canopy tent and 40lbs of weight PER LEG

    You should have received a Square invoice and an email from hello@rvamakersmarket.us.
    Payment is due now.

    Once payment is received, you will be added to the content calendar.

  • Your space type can be found on your invoice.

    • Standard indoor spaces have room for one (1) 6-foot table. NO additional racks, small extra tables , or rugs permitted.

    • Double space - Indoors. room for 2 6ft tables. let us know if you are using racks or alternative displays so we can place you accordingly.

    • Outdoor: 10 x 10 space for a canopy tent.

      • Must have a canopy tent with 40 pounds of weight per leg. You will not be allowed to set up without appropriate tent weights.

      • When setting up, place your tent along the back of the parking space. you will be facing the brewery. The parking lot is technically 6th st. We don’t want to encourage anyone to stand in the middle of the street.

      • In-case of rain: outdoor vendors are moved inside.
        We try our best to give you room for a second table or rack indoors.

      • If we have to use the rain plan and you can get by with one table, please let us know asap. we’ll buy you a beer.

      • BRING BATTERY POWERED LIGHTS

  • 6" table and chairs, decorations, signage, business cards, stickers, pen, paper, table cloth, card reader, cash for change, hand sanitizer, extension cords, lighting, hotspot, etc.

    NO RUGS for 6ft spaces

    OUTDOORS, bring everything above plus:

    10’ canopy tent, sunscreen, water bottle, TENT WEIGHTS (your tent should tell you how much weight is needed per leg. 40 pounds per leg is average), battery/solar lights, rug, tent walls in case it’s too sunny/windy/ rainy, bungee cords or string, weights to hold displays down, etc.

    1 tent is available to rent for $20.

    2 tables are available to rent for $10 ea

    Stools are available to borrow - ask at the bar

  • This is a dog friendly brewery. Dogs are required to be on a leash with the leash in hand, at all times.

    Please respect your neighbor’s space. Only two people can be behind your table at any time.

    Rain or shine event. No refunds for weather related changes. -- just trust me. I won't put you or your stuff in danger.

    *important reminder* Out of respect for those on the waitlist, you are only authorized to sell items that are handmade by YOU.
    This is a curated market and your placement on the map is based on the category of items that you are selling.

    • Ask Marie or a volunteer to start a tab for you.

    • Pizza and soft drinks are available to order from the bar, along with Basic City’s beer, cider, seltzer, and wine.

    • No outside alcoholic beverages are permitted.

      • It’s ok for you to bring your own snacks and non-alcoholic drinks.

    • Food Trucks will be outside. check their instagram's for mobile ordering details.

    • NA Drinks: NA Beer, Kombucha, Seltzer, fancy soda

    • Do not come if you are not feeling well or if you have been in contact with someone who has contracted COVID. In this case, your fee will be transferred for a future market.

    • refund requests should be made 14+ days before the market date.

    • No shows/no calls will not be eligible for future events and programs.

    Sharing posts in your stories from other makers that will be at the market, shows all of our followers that we, as makers, support each other. Makers who share and tag other makers on our roster, will be highlighted / given priority to be featured in our posts and ads.   • Basic City only has 2 individual stall bathrooms. We understand you need to get back to your table quickly, so we got a port-a-potty for you. It’s located behind the food truck. you can find it through the side exit in the game room, behind the food truck.

    good news: it’s usually pretty fresh because we get it the night before the market.

  • If you are donating to a cause or organization, let me know who you are donating to

    After the market, update me with how much you donated. a screenshot is preferred.

    if you do not identify as LGBTQ+ you are required to donate 15% of your sales to the RVA Makers Market mutual aid fund.

  • No wifi outdoors. you’ll need your own hotspot.

  • From 5-6pm we encourage you to visit other maker’s tables. Ask if they are open to trades.

    *Vendor drink special* 4pm-10pm Ask at the bar for this month’s deal.

  • Beginning May 8th 2024, we have implemented a late fee of 15% to cover the additional costs of chasing down unpaid vendors and finding last minute replacements.

    Invoices paid more than 7 days after the due date incur a 15% charge.

    Your invoice may be cancelled if we do not hear from you 24 hours after your reminder email on the 8th day.
